You’ve likely heard it on the news many times – new electronic health and medical records in PEI are helping clinicians better co-ordinate care. But what does that mean? And what’s the difference between an electronic health record (EHR) and an electronic medical record (EMR)?

While both are secure, digital records of patient information that can be accessed by clinicians involved in your health care, there are some differences between these two records. Let’s break it down.
